PCS7 Grand Final: Caster Cursed

Coverage

by PUBG Esports

The PCS7 Americas Grand Final is right around the corner, and we’ve asked our phenomenal talent lineup about the teams and players who’ll be hitting the battlegrounds! Not only that, we’ve managed to convince some of them to share their fantasy lineups with us so you can compare your roster with theirs! Now that the die is cast and teams are locked for Grand Final, we accept zero responsibility for the untimely caster curses that may or may not follow the publishing of this Q&A!

WITHOUT [THIS PLAYER], [THIS TEAM] DOESN’T QUALIFY FOR THE PCS7 AMERICAS GRAND FINAL, AND WHY?

Cameron Davis: Show for Rumblers. I think his forceful, impactful playstyle helped make the space necessary for Los and Valliate to get the kills they needed to win..

Mike “Porosaurus” Navarro: BBB_gats. BBB replacing Oldless with Gats this late in the year is a move the team believes will get them to PGC, simple as that..

Pietro “Ivanz1to” Perazzone: Trogloditas – Rustyzera: He made a big hero play at the last match of [LATAM Regional Playoffs]. Even with technical problems, he could guide his teammates from the early game to the endgame. He also eliminated a lot of players with an SKS on that last match.

Gabriel “Canedo” Canedo: Without Benja, Synergy Esports doesn’t qualify for the PCS7 Americas Grand Final. His high-level play allowed Synergy to reach the Grand Finals. He [had] decisive clutches and practically carried the team on his shoulders. Nowadays Synergy depends more on him than Szylzen himself.

Steven “Toffees” Pierce: LosHD. He played well in LCQ. Los is an excellent player but a lot of Rumblers success is based on if good Los or bad Los shows up

WHO ARE YOUR TOP 3 PLAYERS FROM NA AND TOP 3 PLAYERS FROM LATAM?

Cameron Davis: NA: TGLTN, M1ME, Kickstart, Relo, LATAM: Capitan, Guizeera, Rustyzera, beNjA.

Mike “Porosaurus” Navarro: TGLTN, Relo, and Kickstart from NA, and Sylyzen, Capitan, and Dr4ftking from LATAM..

Pietro “Ivanz1to” Perazzone: NA: TGLTN, Kickstart, Luke12 LATAM: Possa, Guizeera, Dr4ftking

Gabriel “Canedo” Canedo: NA = Mime, TGLTN and Ykikamucow, LATAM = Capitan, Guizeera and Rustyzera

Davi “Releen” Neves: TGLTN, Fludd, Snakers.  Capitan, Guizeera, Rustyzera

“Afrodite” : NA – TGLTN, Kickstart, Snakers LATAM – Guizeera, Capitan, lfp1

OF THE TEAMS HEADED TO THE PCS7 AMERICAS GRAND FINAL, WHICH ONE DO YOU THINK IS THE MOST ‘UNDERRATED’ AND LIKELY TO SURPRISE VIEWERS?

Cameron Davis: I think people are going to underrate 22 based off of ESL Masters 2 but that result was so obviously a fluke and their Regional Playoffs already look a lot better.

Gabriel “Canedo” Canedo: Synergy. I think they’re not on the viewers’ radar. If you take a good look, they are a very experienced team, with high-quality players, and have one of LATAM’s best aims: the young Benja.

Steven “Toffees” Pierce: 4 Poor Men. Strong experienced players who have nothing to lose and will play with their hearts on their sleeve.

WHICH PLAYER/TEAM DO YOU BELIEVE HAS THE MOST PRESSURE ON THEM COMING INTO THE PCS7 AMERICAS GRAND FINAL AND WHY THEM?

Cameron Davis: LG are in an uncomfortable spot for PGC because of ESL 2 and if they end up not qualifying this would be the first global event they’d be missing since the start of 2019.

Mike “Porosaurus” Navarro: Luminosity. If this team does not make it to PGC, it will be an incredible upset. They have put themselves in this position, so they need to fight their way out.

Pietro “Ivanz1to” Perazzone: 22 Guizeera: He is just 18, it’s his first official tournament and a lot of teams expect a good performance from him.

Gabriel “Canedo” Canedo: Luminosity Gaming. In terms of North America PGC points, they are on the verge of qualification. They have no fat to burn. It’s kill or be killed.

Steven “Toffees” Pierce: Purdykurty. Luminosity is entering a major pressure cooker and there will be lots of eyes on them, and him specifically.

WHICH TEAMS ARE GOING TO BE IN THE TOP 5? WHAT MAKES THEM STANDOUT?

Cameron Davis: Top 5 is hard, but top 6 is pretty comfortably going to be SQ, eU, LG, BBB, WC, and FIUMBA (in no particular order).

Mike “Porosaurus” Navarro: Soniqs and eUnited are a given, they are just playing on a different level than the rest of the region right now. The final three are more debatable, but I believe we’ll see Luminosity, Wildcard, and Trogloditas at the top. I believe LG will respond to the pressure and make PGC, while Wildcard has been playing at a fantastic level recently. I also feel that Trogloditas will play much better around Possa now that they have had more time.

Pietro “Ivanz1to” Perazzone: 1- Soniqs 2- eUnited 3- Trogloditas 4- 22 Esports 5- Fiumba

Gabriel “Canedo” Canedo: eUnited, Luminosity Gaming, Soniqs, Wildcard Gaming and Synergy. The experience and results showed so far. These teams do not tremble at decisive moments.

Davi “Releen” Neves: eU, Soniqs, 22, Fiumba, Luminosity

“Afrodite” : Soniqs –  It is a complete roster. The players play collectively rather than individually, they have a great chemistry which makes their gameplay great to watch. Beyond that they always make a great effort to keep their squad complete.

eUnited – It’s a team that has been standing out and challenging the top of the leaderboards due to their great positioning and kill rate.

Fiumba – Achieved an outstanding result at the Regional Playoffs and are going to give their all at the Grand Final.

22 – It’s a team that has been standing out in the competitive scene, it’s the LATAM squad with the most PGC points so far and now with addition of Guizeera I consider them even stronger and they are coming for that PGC spot.

BBB – It’s a very experienced team, we always see them going for kill points, therefore I think they are going to be close to the top 5.

WHO DO YOU PREDICT TO WIN THE PCS7 AMERICAS GRAND FINAL AND WHAT IS THEIR KEY(S) TO SUCCESS?

Cameron Davis: It’s always close between eU and SQ, but I have to give it to SQ. It’s tight, but SQ are just barely more consistent with their performances. I give them 55/45 between SQ and eU.

Mike “Porosaurus” Navarro: It’s very tough to pick between Soniqs and EUnited, as they are both playing at an insane level right now. I am going to give the edge to Soniqs, as they always seem to turn it up an extra notch for PCS.

Pietro “Ivanz1to” Perazzone: Soniqs: is the team with the most titles in the lobby and, in my opinion, they have the best team-play.

Gabriel “Canedo” Canedo: eUnited. At this moment they have the strongest will to win the PCS7. I believe that’ll be the key factor for them.

Davi “Releen” Neves: 22, Guizeera is the key to success

“Afrodite” : Soniqs – The key to their success is their chemistry, each player plays for the team. To me, Soniqs is the strongest squad on that matter.  Another key point for them is decision making, the team reads the plays correctly and has the timing to act upon it.

WHO’S ON YOUR FANTASY LINEUP FOR WEEK 1 OF THE PCS7 AMERICAS GRAND FINAL?

Mike “Porosaurus” Navarro: TGLTN, PurdyKurty, Guizeera, and Fludd

Cameron Davis: SHOW, M1ME, GregshotGG, Fludd

Pietro “Ivanz1to” Perazzone: 22- Guizeera, Trogloditas- Possa,  Soniqs- TGLTN, eUnited- Kickstart

Gabriel “Canedo” Canedo: Mime, Kickstart, Ykikamucow and Penta

Davi “Releen” Neves: Guizeera, Capitan, TGLTN, Fludd

Steven “Toffees” Pierce: Kick, Tig, Guizeera, Capitan

“Afrodite” :TGLTN, Kickstart, Guizeera, Capitan
