PGS2, powered by Gamers8 Announcement – Americas Qualifiers Details

by PUBG Esports

As previously announced, the PUBG Global Series 2 will be live at the world’s largest gaming and esports festival, Gamers8 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from August 10th to 20th. The best teams from around the globe will battle it out in Erangel, Miramar, and Taego for the title of being the best in the world and a $2,000,000 prize pool. Following our announcement of the PGS2 Americas Open Qualifiers, we’re bringing you further details of the PGS2 Americas Qualifiers.

Following the completion of the PUBG Global Series 2 Americas Open Qualifiers, the top eight (8) teams from each sub-region will advance to their respective Regional Playoff, where they will find themselves competing against eight (8) teams who have been invited based on their performance at PUBG Americas Series Phase 1. If, for any reason, an invited team does not meet eligibility, roster requirements, or any other rules set out in the Rulebook, that team will be replaced by the next best team from the Round of 16 that meets the requirements.

The Regional Playoff will be a two-day, 16 team stage with 6 matches per day held on June 24th & 25th for North America and July 1st & 2nd for Latin America. Teams will be scored on a cumulative leaderboard with the top 8 teams from the NA Regional Playoff leaderboard and top 8 teams from the LATAM Regional Playoff leaderboard moving on to the PGS2 Americas Qualifiers Finals.

Once the final 16 teams are set, they will battle it out over the course of a three-day period (July 7th-9th) consisting of 6 matches per day (18 matches total). The Finals will determine who will claim those all-important PGC Qualification Points. The top three (3) placing teams from the Finals will also qualify for PGS2 and go on to fight for a share of the $2,000,000 prize pool.
